About David Napier

During a 12-year career as a print journalist, David Napier wrote for some of Canada's largest consumer and trade publications, including Saturday Night, Toronto Life, Canadian Business, the National Post, Elm Street, En Route, Shift and Outpost. He has been a speech writer for some of Canada's most prominent public figures, including the Mayor of Ottawa, the former Minister of Health for Nova Scotia and the Governor General of Canada.

In 2000, his investigative reporting into the abuse suffered by some students at Indian Residential Schools in Canada was nominated for two National Magazine Awards. In 2001-02, Napier was awarded a prestigious Southam Fellowship (now The Canadian Journalism Fellowships). Since completing that year of study at the University of Toronto, David Napier has focused on developing informative and entertaining narratives that shape lives and improve societies. In addition to Story-based Consulting for companies, NGOs and political candidates, Napier has recently written a screenplay and co-written an hour-long ‘dramedy’ for TV.

David Napier holds a BA from St. Francis Xavier University and an MA (Legal & Political Theory) from the University of London (UCL), England.

He lives in Halifax, N.S., with his wife and two boys.
